After penalties the Lions end as runner-up to Poland for the BXL Euroleague title. Thousands of Orange supporters travelled to Tervuren to see the full-time end goalless. It would be a penalty shoot-out which would decide the winner of the tournament. The silver medal marks the end of a 12 game run which saw the Lions undefeated since November 2009 and the end of a fantastic season.

The Lions secure a place in the final of the BXL Euroleague following a classic penalty thriller against the UK. The encouter raised high expectations with both sides looking to control the match. It was the UK who took the lead early in the first half. However, the Lions were determined to keep the pressure on and a deserved goal came near fulltime by Groot. Coeverts ensured victory for the Lions with a stunning save of the final penalty of the shootout. The win leads the Lions into the final which is to be played this Sunday, May 03 in Tervuren against the winner of Portugal - Poland later this week.

A 1-1 draw away has put the Lions in a position of advantage to secure a place in the final of the Euroleague. With a stunning lob late in the first half, the draw was sealed by Schik. The return match this Tuesday, April 28 in Woluwe promises to be an exciting clash between two teams which rival each other in their differences: UK, runners up of the league championship in 2008 and the Lions, which are new to the league, yet have shown they are not new to the game of football.

OiB would like to thank its sponsors for supporting the successfull charity event of April 21 2009. In Woluwe, the Dutch Prince Constantijn and the Consul of the Dutch Embassy in Brussels performed the kick-off of a match which would be won by team Energy4All. The win symbolised the priority of the evening which was to raise awareness and fund for children with metabolism diseases. For some impressions of the evening click here.
